Tuam Freestyle Comp

So since team trials have been cancelled there's going to be a freestyle competition at Tuam on Sunday!
For anyone who doesn't know what Tuam, or even freestyle is, it's the stuff in the short boats in this video (where they're doing flips and stuff...though you don't have to be able to do this to take part!):

There's going to be a sport class there which is pretty much a second division, you can sit in the hole sideways and wave and blow kisses and do air guitars and stuff, and get loads of points for it! Anyone who's free on Sunday should definatly come along, it'll be great craic, you'll get to meet a bunch of paddlers from outside of ULKC who are all dead sound, see some shit hot paddlers in action, and hopefully win a few prizes if you can sit sideways in the hole and do air guitars better than anyone else! ...extra points for cheeky smiles at the judges, I think the scribe was about to propose to Luke at one stage up in Crana!
Registration is at 10 in Tuam so we'll be leaving here around 8, and probably get back around 7 or so.
About ability, if you can roll then you're definatly up for this! If you can't roll but are happy enough with T-rescues then you're also sorted, cos we can get people to sit in the eddy and go for the t as soon as you go over, and they'll be there within seconds! ...and if you can't T-rescue, then it's not really a problem as long as you're ok with swimming a few times, there's a big long flat section after the hole for rescues so swimming isn't an issue at all; just wear a decent wet suit!
