Event website here: http://canoe.ie/en-us/liffeydescent/wha ... scent.aspx

17 mile race on the Liffey in Dublin. Around 1000 people race every year, it's one of the biggest kayaking events in the world! Around 2.5 hours of paddling if you're going hard, around 4 if you're taking it easy in a canoe wearing a stupid costume as a lot of people do. It's always a good laugh, it's a great way to meet people from around the country and there's always a bit of banter on the water.

For the last three years in a row our Lahinch trip has clashed with it but now it's slightly later in the hope of getting more water for it.

Who's interested in going?

If you have any questions about it, ask away!

Yup.

I suppose we should get training so. Anyone up for some early morning or evening LD paddles (stupid work)?
If you can keep your head, when all about you are losing theirs, then you probably haven't fully understood the situation.

Yep me and Luke are doing it in the duo. We'll blow those K2 pretenders out of the water!
Sheep, like all wool-bearing animals, instinctively travel north, where it's colder, and they won't be so stuffy.
