I've been thinking about a trip to Nottingham at the end of the summer for those who are interested. Nothing in stone just a few thoughts and discussions.

Id love to bring a sprinter full of people for 10 days, itd be sick. The reason for ten days is because the water is so dirty you're bound to vomit and shit for at least 3 days. (Unless you drink a naggin after every session to kill the shit in your stomach)

So 7 people with 7 playboats, a few rpms/axioms and some slalom boats would be sick.

Between the drive from limerick to Dublin and Holyhead to Nottingham it'd be probably a 6 and half hour drive max.

It cost 7.50 per day for students to use the course so 7x7.50= 53x10days=530 pounds

It costs 21pounds for a tent spot with electricity (2adults) and 5 for every adult after that. So probably 2 tents 42 pound and three extra people +15=57pounds perday camping for 10 days 57x10= 570 pounds.

For food we could definitely match the same target prices as we do in the alps 5pp per day = 350 beans

I did a quick quote on the sprinter of 7 people and it came back as 300 bean from 15 August to 25 August I wasnt sure of the height of sprinter so i picked up to 2.6 metres. Itd be about 600 bean for it to go back and forward.

Paddling= £530
Camping= +£570
£1100 x€1.13 (Sound Brexit)
€1243
Food= About Tree Fiddy
Ferry= 600 beanarooneys
Petrol= Maybe Cathal could answer this one? 300Euros I guess? *Edited*

Cost approx=2493 Yoyos
Cost pp= Around 250Without subsidy

Could go for a night out in Nottingham too itd be sick. Ive one or two mandem there so they could hook us up with daycent spots to go to.

If anyone has anything to add to this please do, Im not much of a behind the scenes organizing person. Please tell me if I missed any vital costs too.

I've already given a proposal to Amy for the enablement fund. Its no guarantee of funding but you never know.

Everything I did is here https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fpKxb ... 5UQOykuXdU

I did the fuel based on 2 tanks of fuel which might be generous since the campsite is across the road.

Looks like the campsite quotes are the only things we have different. Which one were you using?

I also have different dates based on the week between the end of graduations and the start of the semester but they can be changed.

Man this kind of trip could have soooooo much potential for progression. Its pretty cheap already without subsidy.

I would also have a fairly strict selection policy on this. Keep it for people who will benefit the most. No bullshit like the alps

Just because it's cheap doesn't mean you can't make it cheaper, I never implied it couldn't happen without subsidy or that there wasn't potential for progression?

I don't see why I'd skip graduation. As stupid as it is we did work 4 years to get to that day so I don't see why we'd skip it. Especially when there's a comfy 9 days between the last day of the graduations and the first day of college which is plenty for Nottingham.

It would probably suit anyone with a summer job to finish up the latest they can too so that they can make every cent they can before the trip and going back to college.

All just being a suggestion though, who knows who's going yet so summer jobs and graduations might be irrelevant.
