Cathal Ferris and I implemented a Paddle Colour Coding System over the weekend.

The paddles are coded by length and most will have 2 rings of electrical tape on the paddle shafts.

188 cm WHITE
191 cm BLUE
194 cm GREEN
197 cm YELLOW
200 cm RED

203 cm NO MARKING
206 cm SILVER
209 cm GREEN & YELLOW or Earth for the Electricians.

I hope you all find this useful. ImageImage

Here's a guide of what paddle length would be suitable to your height now that they're all nicely labeled for us thanks to the lads.

Definitely wouldn't take tht guide by gospel though! I'm barely 5 foot 8 and I use a 200 cm paddle for whitewater. All down to preference I guess.

At least now you can gauge which paddles are suitable for yourself, once you've tried various lengths and have a feel for it.

I'm 5'10" and my Werners are 194s. My next paddles will probably be 198-200s though. Once you're paddling a few years you'll know what works for you.
