First day's paddling on the advanced portion of last year's ULKC Alps Trip 2014.
The previous night was when we had arrived at the campsite and warmed up on the Home Run, then we set up tents. As we were heading off to sleep it started to thunder and lightning, with really heavy downpours of rain. This meant that the next day's paddling plans had to be modified a little as all of our side stream options were a tad overfull of water. We were left with little option really except to head on the Sesia itself, the Raft Run section from Little Canada to Varallo described in this book. It was a big day- with the water level at the dirt road into Alberto's campsite and to have the river threatening to flow over it..
