After Alps Plans
Moderator: Rian O Connell
This is aimed at the more advanced paddlers. Who is planning to do what for the summer? Anyone who hasn't got plans yet, what are you hoping to do for the summer, that you realistically have the money and time to do?

I'll be in Analog crying my eyes out for 3 months jealous of whatever fun stuff ye're all doing.
Sheep, like all wool-bearing animals, instinctively travel north, where it's colder, and they won't be so stuffy.

I might be able to do a paddling trip the end of August.
Depends if there is enough work for me to keep my co-op for the next six months.
Hmmm, where would have water in August?
Do I even dare mention it.
Second thought.. Iceland.. Just looked up flights there and there are some for under 200 return. Been there before.
Very expensive to rent a vehicle and a jeep or big van is a must over there!! On the plus side it's fairly small country and one good roads goes along the whole coast making getting from west to east easy.
All volcanic rock, looks pretty cool.
Big volume waterfalls.
We know a family over there and they might be able to help us sort a cheap van for the few weeks.
Got to love when a well thought out plan comes together

Eyjafjallajökull Eyjafjallajökull consists of a volcano completely covered by an ice cap. The ice cap covers an area of about 100 square kilometres (39 sq mi), feeding many outlet glaciers. The main outlet glaciers are to the north; Gígjökull,
Dude Iceland would be epic... Have you looked into it much, is there much medium size stuff over there or is it all huge?
I won't be making any definite plans till after team trials but I am a little interested...
