Doing well in Long Distance

So a really handy strategy to beating people that are better than you is to wash hang(Slip Stream). If you have ever seen cyclists cycling behind one another or cars driving one after the other to get into the slip stream it means they can go faster using less energy.

You can do this in kayaks also as boats create a small wave behind them that you can ride thus making it possible for you to go fast but use less energy. The Diamond formation you see the k1s in here is easier to paddle the further you are back. ie youll be doing a lot of work in the front but fŭck all in the back.

Moral of the story is sit behind someone who is better than you and do everything you can to stay behind them then try to pass them out in the last few hundred metres.

Just in relation to long distance - would it be possible to let everyone know what class they are going to be competing in now that the sign up docs are in?

Would be class if everyone knew so that we can take the right boats out for practice for the next 2 weeks when we go outback, just an idea
