Deck implosion and paddled to shore, hopped out holding all his gear.

Re: Andrew gets serious...

I can see why people want a like button, fair enough....

Is there a way of keeping that but getting rid of the 'has thanked' and 'been thanked' thing under everybodys name?

That is a bit unnecessary or am I alone in thinking that?....

Re: ~~ULKC SWIMMER X-FILES~~

Evaluate all aspects of the line and not just the main feature. So true my man! I often spend way more time now evaluating the lead in now then the actual feature. A good example is the top drop of the Boluisce in high water, the main falls is eye catching and sometimes intimidating, but how your l...

We're going to need a definite answer on the swim bootie issue Mr. Keyes. Yes or No.

Please respectfully pay your homage to the river gods.

~~ULKC SWIMMER X-FILES~~

OK boys and girls this this is where you document your proud and glorious wet exits from your kayak. To start it off I want everybody to post about their last whitewater swim using the format below. We want to hear all the gory details. If you have a solid roll in the pool you are eligible for the S...

Re: Andrew gets serious...

Forgive my ignorance....

But what good is having skynet if you have to spend so many hours of your life constantly getting rid of bugs and spam? The club can't expect there to always be somebody willing to give up so much time (or have the know how) to do this.

Re: Andrew gets serious...

I know NUIG pay a yearly fee (not expensive) to a web hoster and I havent once seen spam on the forum since I joined it in 2008. The forum is also publicly accessible. I wouldn't be overly paranoid regarding what people can see. Never known it to be an issue, just be sure not to publicly defame a bu...

Re: Andrew gets serious...

Yeah I see your points Mike although I've limited understanding. Whatever we can do to make the like page have a greater reach, yeah go for it!

To be clear though I do believe social media is important, but the 'in your face' bombardment nature of the group does more damage then good.

Andrew gets serious...

Right so I don't really get serious about things online because usually it is pointless but I feel very strongly about the way in which the club is operating on social media and the only people losing out are the future members of the club. This website is phenomenal and obviously a ton of work has ...
