You've got a date for the 12th of March!
UCD are having their annual ball in Laragh, Wicklow (beside Jacksons on the Annamoe) on the 12th of March and you're all invited! I've never been but it's meant to be a great night. From what I've gathered over the years most of the kayakers in Dublin end up going to it, not just UCD and there's a l...

Re: Thinking of buying a creeker
It would depend what paddling I was planning to do. Probably a Tuna if I had plans for big volume creeking or a 9R if I was going to give the race league a proper go. For having the most fun possible on Irish rivers and even anything the club paddles in the Alps the XT 300 is still the best boat I'v...

In fairness my Exo has gotten dogs abuse and Jack's was wrapped around a tree...
Any of the big displacement hull boats probably aren't ideal for what you're going to be doing, it would kinda be like bringing a monster truck to a rally stage.

Did you paddle Little Eas Patrick? That's a tricky one, it catches out a lot of people.

Re: ULCD Paddling 19th & 20th
Hey Patrick, it really depends on the level but once you've got a reasonably solid roll on moving water and are able to confidently drive into some of the smaller eddies on the Glens then you should be able to find someone to bring you down the Glens. If you're 50-50 about it you can always go out a...

Anyone going to team trials?
As it says on the tin, is anyone headed to the freestyle team trials in Tuam? If so I have a favour to ask!

Re: Paddlesurf Come and Try it!
Lads someone texted me about this and it must be one of ye. I don't have your number and don't have credit to text you back. Anyway, I'm away in England at the moment so I won't be boating in Cork at the weekend. Thanks for the text tho!

Re: Anyone Want To Work In A Canadian Summer Camp?
There are a whole pile of companies working to put Europeans in contact with summer camps in the US and Canada. I've never done it myself but from what I've heard and read; No qualifications needed, the camps will train you in whatever you need. If you kayak or do any other sport you'll likely be ab...

...I'd like to propose the committee position of 'Scanlon', with the job of bitch-slapping anyone who comes up with a poor excuse for not going kayaking!

Re: Committee Positions
Nice one Jemma! The ass-std position is not up for discussion, mostly cos of the name! All of the others can be moved around to create a committee that works. Like the lads said, any questions fire away!

Check out the spot in Millau, France for what's possible on a small river. Change in Height and flow rate are your key variables. Any chance you need someone to consult on the project?! Comes with experience of maths and kayaking, pay negotiable...

Lads, poor showing, why is everyone only coming down for New Years itself?! There's going to be partying and paddling going on all week! Starting tomorrow night in Killorglin for anyone who comes down in the van with Scanlon!
